McCain arranges to give a campaign speech via cell phone, is cut off at the very start, but proceeds to deliver an approximately 20-minute speech with no one listening.  (He did call back and got a do over).  The LAT has the story.

Iowa Dems are united, more united than ever!  For any doubters, check out Governor Vilsack's speech to the Iowa Dem Convention, just this morning, courtesy of Radio Iowa.  It's only three minutes or so long, and really is a must listen.  Vilsack was national co-chair of HRC's campaign, but sounded the perfect note of unity.  The speech was awesome, and enthusiastically received by all Dems.  Listen.

With a pedigree and personal history like his, I continue to be shocked by Senator John McCain’s neglect of our returning veterans. Today, he chose to campaign for president instead of voting on Senator Webb’s vital bipartisan G.I. Bill. He has stated that, like President Bush, he does not support the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act, which will sensibly expand educational benefits for veterans, including activated National Guard and reservists to meet the growing costs of a higher education.
